- **Pay as you go for AI tools** — a one-time 1,000-credit pack ($14 CAD) unlocks generation through the Prologue MCP connector (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) without a plan; Prologue Studio itself still needs a plan

## API & MCP Integration

Prologue AI is one MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and AI agents. Every connection gets the same tools and the same prompt-writing skills.

- **Sign-in connector (people)**: add `https://prologue.ai/api/mcp` as a custom connector in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor and sign in with a Prologue account (OAuth with dynamic client registration). Generations use the account's credits.
- **Org API key (agents)**: `https://prologue.ai/api/mcp/v1` with `Authorization: Bearer sk-org-...`, billed to the org wallet. Create keys under Manage Org > API Keys.
- **Local relay**: [@prologue-ai/mcp](https://www.npmjs.com/package/@prologue-ai/mcp) (`npx -y @prologue-ai/mcp@latest` with `PROLOGUE_API_KEY`) forwards a stdio client to the hosted server.

## Connector FAQ

**Can I try Prologue in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor without a subscription?**
Yes. Each Prologue account gets one complimentary short social video through the connector (personal project only — the usual video-from-idea flow, including its prompt help). Images, audio, and other generations still need credits. After that, buy a one-time 1,000-credit pack ($14 CAD) at https://prologue.ai/plans to keep creating from ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor without a monthly plan, or subscribe to a Prologue plan. Welcome credits work in Studio on prologue.ai; they do not work in the connector.

**Can I use my free signup credits in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor?**
No. Free signup and app-install credits cannot be spent through the Prologue connector (they still work in Studio on the website). To generate in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, use your one free social video, buy a 1,000-credit pack ($14 CAD) at https://prologue.ai/plans, or have a Prologue plan or a seat on a team plan. In ChatGPT, purchase the pack on the website — checkout is not available inside the ChatGPT app.

**Do I need an API key to use Prologue in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor?**
No. Add the connector (https://prologue.ai/api/mcp) and sign in with your Prologue account. Org API keys (sk-org-...) are only for agents and automations that run without a person signing in, and they are billed to the organization's wallet.
